Phil Jones asks to play for U23s in hopes of getting fit before going into the big team.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is set to feature in the Premier League 2, or Under-23 competition, to regain his fitness after recovering from injury and returning to training this season. This is reported by the Daily Mail.
The 29-year-old has yet to make any appearances for the first team this season. But he returned to the name in the latest match that the Red Devils defeated Norwich City 1-0 last weekend.
Reports from The Athletic say the German has been very impressed with Jones’ determination during training and plans to select the player for the Champions League game. The final group stage match to meet with Young Boys, if referred to in the list of competitions.
With the city’s elite center backs not registered in the list.
